Dimash Kudaibergen was honored with two awards at the “Victoria” Russian National Music Awards  on 5th December 2019. He was winner of two nomination categories with “Singer of the Year in Classical Music” for his rendition of Olimpico [Ogni Pietra] and “New Discovery of the Year”. Dimash has acknowledged this honor in his Instagram (please see below) with this message:

“Dear friends, I am pleased to tell you the news that at the Russian National Music Award “Victoria” I won in two categories. “Singer of the Year in Classical Music” and “Discovery of the Year”. Here is Dimash’s performance of OLIMPICO / Ogni Pietra in Sochi, a resort city in Russia, a guest appearance during the New Wave Musical Festival this year. It is not a surprise that this epic has garnered such awe from anyone hearing and seeing Dimash onstage or in a video. COLLABORATION WITH COMPOSER, MR IGOR KRUTOI

Russian Composer Igor Krutoy who was also present during the awards night had composed the music of Olimpico especially for Dimash. Mr Krutoy himself is a multi-awarded artist in Russia, honored with the Lenin Komsomol Prize in 1989, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, People’s Artist of Russia, and People’s Artist of Ukraine. He has collaborated with world reknowned artists some of whom are Anna Netrebko, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Andrea Bocelli, Lara Fabian, Alla Pugacheva and Irina Allegrova.

Mr Krutoy has recently been heavily collaborating with Dimash on several songs. Songs that Dimash is singing as remakes of past compositions of Mr Krutoy include: Love of Tired Swans, Mademoiselle Hyde, Love is Like a Dream, Passione, Know (Ascolta La Voce) . At the moment, Mr Krutoy has set aside the rest of his work to prioritize working with Dimash. For his 65th Birthday celebrations, the world famous composer has launched a series of min-concerts in several cities with Dimash has his opening act.

Lyricist Lia Vinogradova composed the  beautiful lyrics to the song. Dimash and Mr Krutoy launched the epic composition in Minsk, Belarus at the opening of the 2nd European Games on 21st of June 2019.

About the Victoria Award

The Victoria Russian National Music Awards was held at the State Kremlin Palace at 7 PM on December 5th, 2019. This particular award made its debut in 2015, a project by the Fund of Russian Music Support founded by the Russian Music Academy. At the end of the  each year awardees are chosen from nominated musicians, poets, performers, producers, journalists, music critics and the leaders of large media holdings. These include local Russian talent as well as international artists who have made significant impact on the Russian music industry.
