Dimash Kudaibergen: A New Phenomenon Rises

Blog, Resources

The article below was one of the first articles written about Dimash outside of Kazakhstan and China. It is written in the Turkish language by writer Ezgi Aksoy. It looks like an awesome article. If only Ms Aksoy will write the whole thing over in English! šŸ™‚

Ezgi Aksoy was born in 1981 in Istanbul, Turkey. She studied Spanish Litrature and Language in Istanbul University. She was a chorist at several school choirs for 10 years. But after the school, she didn’t continue singing. In 2008, she began to cover stories related to Latin American culture in yeniHarman magazine. Her poems were published in publications like Varlık and Underground Poetix. She gave speeches about Mexican and popular cinema in different events in Istanbul and Ankara. Her movie reviews can be found on Otekisinema.com.

Ezgi still writes for LeMan and Bayan Yanı and also works as a writer/editor/interpreter. She has three published books: ā€œKan Kırmızıā€ (Blood Red), published in 2012 (compilation of the articles on Latin American underground culture), ā€œPopĆ¼ler KĆ¼ltā€ (Popular Cult), published in 2016 (compilation of the articles on popular cinema) and ā€œKız Gibiā€ Girlish, published in 2018 (compliation of articles on women’s rights and movements).
