A Very Important Year

In 2017, Dimash Kudaibergen found himself catapulted into international recognition. The year before, as 2016 came to a close, Dimash was invited to participate in Singer 2017, a popular Hunan TV contest for established professional singers. He signed a contract with Black Gold Talent in Beijing before the contest begun, confirming his participation. At 22, Dimash was the youngest participant in the history of Singer, and competed against professional and top-selling Chinese singers. Dimash’s mother, Sveta later said that he had only hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition. Not only did he finish the Singer 2017, he finished Runner Up, guaranteeing his rapid rise to popularity, and to the delight of all, gained millions of fans he began calling his “Dears”.

In between his Singer 2017 performances and later, he flew to numerous destinations to spread his special brand of music.

2017 Winter Universiade
On January 29, Dimash and Zarina Altynbayeva sang Sarah Brightman’s “A Question of Honor”.

Expo 2017, Astana, Kazakhstan
Dimash participated in a concert in honor of presentation of the Aktyubinsk area. The concert was held on June 26, 2017 on the stage of EXPO-2017 in Astana.
