Dimash Screaming

Dimash ScreamingFor Dimash, Screaming is extra special.  Screaming is Dimash Kudaibergen’s maiden voyage into English pop music, the first English song created for him. In my mind, the big question was always going to be: What will Dimash’s first original English song be like? Well, now we know.  And we’re screaming, right? 🙂

Screaming is SUPERB (yes, all caps!), a joy of a contemporary song. It comes complete with easy to remember lyrics, a stunning MV (music video,) and a gentle rhythm you can’t resist.

Not to mention lots of voice acrobatics by a drop-dead gorgeous singer with the most intriguing English accent you’ll ever hear across any continent.

The lyrics sing of a romance gone sour. Dimash sings with regret (I made mistakes, and hurt you in a lot of ways), desperation (‘I’m screaming, why can’t you hear me?), a plea (but can we try once more?).  But there is also a possible hope —

But the only thing
That can’t slip from me
Is love, for the world to see…

— the theme of millions of other songs. But if you think it’s like any other love song, wait till you hear the harmonies only this young man can produce. Then you’ll know, Dimash has produced an English song with his unique style stamped all over it.

Watching this video here will count to views in Dimash’s Official Youtube Channel

Even for Dimash, Screaming is a veritable vocal thrillfest! This is the first song where I clearly hear him harmonize with himself — on more than one level.  I’m pretty sure he has done this several times before. But in Screaming, this is where you realize without a doubt, Dimash can do anything he wishes with his voice.

The music video itself is a work of art – the contrasting color and effects are awesome, providing a dramatic backdrop complementing the drama of his desperate plea. To the depths of the ocean into which he dives with his misery, we follow him like he was head dolphin. And again we rise with him to the vast, glittering heavens where he hurls his soaring voice like so many deadly arrows. Are you sighing yet? Let’s watch that once again 🙂

Dimash Screaming Lyrics

( taken from LyricsTranslate )
Lyrics by A.J. Runyon | Music Composed by Mugal

I feel you trying to turn
My heart into stone… Stone…
Put up resistance to me
So I let you go, oh…

But the love inside
Just won’t subside:
I can’t stay far from you!

Rips me from the seams,
And yet I’m fighting to believe
You remember me.

[Chorus:]
I’m screaming… Ah…!
Why can’t you hear me?
I’m screaming… Ah…!
Why can’t you feel me?
I’m screaming inside!
Ah ah I…
I’m screaming inside!

I made mistakes
And hurt you in a lot of ways
And non-forgiveness
Forces you to punish me.

Such a gruesome scene
Is your blade of speech;
Slices every part of me.

But the only thing
That can’t slip from me
Is love, for the world to see…

[Chorus:]I’m screaming… Ah…!
Why can’t you hear me?
I’m screaming… Ah…!
Why can’t you feel me?
I’m screaming inside!
Ah ah I…
I’m screaming inside![Middle 8:]
Don’t let us say
Go away;
Everything…
Now I know there’s no way
To fix us, baby!
I know it’s difficult
But, can we try once more?
I’ll get it right this time…[Chorus:]
I’m screaming… Ah…!
Why can’t you hear me?
I’m screaming… Ah…!
Why can’t you feel me?
I’m screaming inside!
Ah ah I…
I’m screaming inside!

I’m screaming inside…

Dimash Screaming “Behind the Scenes”

Bloopers, jokes, personality quirks. Clips of extraordinary moments otherwise lost and unshared. Live footage that catches the rarest of moments and facial expressions. These are all the things I love about behind-the-scenes videos. So I was EXTREMELY delighted to discover there was a behind-the-scenes video for Screaming. Here are some of the things I love about it —

Production Process – When we appreciate a film or video, aren’t we sometimes curious as to how it’s made? In this video, Dimash fan Gloria Wu has inserted English subtitles so we can follow the technical production behind the finished product. Thank you, Gloria 🙂

Acting – You suddenly realize that in this video, other than singing, Dimash is acting. For example, you see him actually looking up at the camera that’s trying to capture his solemn and sad facial expression. And my imagination offers hundreds of memes about what he could actually be thinking of at that exact time (which doesn’t have to be solemn and sad.) What acting part  is your favorite? Leave a comment…

Interactions with Crew — If what this video shows is for real, then one can say Dimash has a real good time interacting with the MV crew members. It shows he and crew have mutual respect and enjoy working together. I appreciate that!

Rare Moments — these are the most special in any behind the scenes video. Shots of these enable fans to get to know an artist or actors during moments off-stage or off-screen. These are unplanned, spontaneous moments that are truly delightful. Check out those moments when Dimash does something goofy or bursts into song. Love them 🙂

And Many, Many More…  Write comments below what you enjoy about this behind-the-scenes video 🙂
