Dimash Arrival Departure New York December 2019
Dears Give Dimash A Warm Welcome
It was a chilly morning when Dimash Kudaibergen arrived in New York City on December 8, 2019. But Dimash and his fans (called Dears) certainly raised temperatures inside the airport even long before he arrived! A crowd of Dimash fans arrived at the airport to welcome their favorite and much-beloved singer, and what a welcome it was! It seemed as though a festival had descended upon John F Kennedy Airport. Although well-behaved and relatively restrained, Dears still proved to be a bit of a challenge to the John F Kennedy security team as excitement and joy ran rampant throughout the welcoming party.
With calls for selfies, groufies, autographs, gleeful hooting, and shouts of “Dimash! Dimash! Dimash!”, “Dimash, we love you!” and “Welcome to the US, welcome to New York!”, the feeling of celebration was euphoric. At the sight of Dimash’s father Mr Kanat Aitbayev, who celebrated his birthday a few days before, fans then started an impromptu singing of “Happy birthday, Kanat”.
Historic Moment
No dear is a stranger to memorable Dimash airport welcomes organized by his fans. Indeed, Dimash airport welcomes around the world are binge-watch worthy. But this JFK airport welcome is very significant especially to his fans in the US because of the years it’s taken for Dimash to come to this historic moment.
To understand this a little bit more, a little background is needed. This is not the first time that he is performing in the US. He previously visited Los Angeles several times for different projects and he appeared as a guest in composer Mr Igor Krutoy’s Birthday Tour in October 2019). This time, this visit is for an extra special purpose — his first solo concert in the USA.
This concert, titled ARNAU [meaning: Dedication], is the realization of his life-long dream, realized after two decades of wrenching hard work, a laser-focus on goals, and spectacular achievements in countries outside of the US. While watching his shining star rise (and rise and rise) in China, Russia and Europe, his American fans had been patiently, or impatiently, waiting for a United States concert. They knew they simply had to wait their turn. And now, that wait is finally over.
Welcome to the US! Welcome to New York, Dimash and Team!
